We asked and you answered — these are Washington D.C.‘s top instructors of 2018!

Harry Samuels, Biker Barre

“Harry is warm, energetic, tough, but his class is a party. He syncs up music and drills better than any spin instructor in Washington. I can’t rave about him enough.” —Molly

“Harry is enthusiastic, energetic, and inspiring! He creates great playlists and improvises when necessary (i.e. when the speakers go out!) to keep his class moving. He creates a welcoming atmosphere that is both fun and challenging. The class goes by so fast, and is so fun, it doesn’t feel like work. I wish Harry taught all my spin classes!” —Lori

“Harry is the reason I finally started to like spinning. I tried classes with other instructors but never could get into it. Harry picks the best music, the routines always match the beat of the music perfectly, and he’s great at calling out cues. I’ve brought 5 friends to his class who were newbies to spinning and hesitant to try, and all of them had a great time (and a great workout)!” —Sarah

“The most enthusiastic and caring. He has the best music and really wants everyone to have a good time. You can tell he’s having a great time as well AND IT’S INFECTIOUS.” —Sarah

Alli Luchey, Zengo Cycle – Logan Circle

“She is the most inspiring amazing person. Going to her class always puts a smile on my face no matter how much I didn’t want to go to class. She is funny, warm, inviting to anyone she doesn’t know and is a total fitness/cycling badass! I have made her part of my weekly routine.” —Taylor

“Alli is amazing. She always gives extra attention where it’s needed and doesn’t let anyone slack off. She also does an amazing job with bringing inspirational health quotes to keep you motivated throughout the class. I am a second-grade teacher, and I often find myself bringing these quotes to my students who in turn ALSO begin making healthy choices! I’m NOT a morning person, but this is the ONLY person I will wake up at 5 am to see!” —Danielle

“Alli has the motivational attitude to help you push through your class and keeps you coming back for more. She has an exuberant amount of energy from start to finish in every class she teaches. She overall is just an amazing person and cares for each one of her students. Oh and her playlists rock! Instructor of the year in my book.” —David

“Alli is simply the best. Not only does she have the best most energizing playlists EVER, but she also motivates her class like no other. I am often so into the workout I don’t even notice the time passing because of how fun the music is. She also gets her class motivated but avoids being too soul-ey which is a hard balance to strike. Workout and playlist quality aside, Alli also befriends her class and makes us feel like family. I specifically seek out her classes whenever I spin because once I started taking a class with her, I couldn’t get as good a workout with anyone else!” —Alexandra
