More often than not, when we are looking to purchase new beauty products, we’re turning towards clean beauty options. Not only are clean beauty products becoming more and more awesome, but we are learning how bad the alternatives really are for our skin and bodies as a whole. While labels are hard to navigate, Sephora has worked to make things much more transparent for their customers.
Cindy Deily, Sephora’s senior director of skincare merchandising shared that, “More and more clients are coming into our stores looking for beauty brands that are free of certain ingredients that they may be looking to avoid. Clean at Sephora is our response to a consumer demand for more transparency and improved navigation.”
What exactly does this mean? The Clean seal found on Sephora products designates that the brand formulates without sulfates (SLS and SLES), parabens, formaldehyde, formaldehyde-releasing agents, phthalates, mineral oil, retinyl palmitate, oxybenzone, coal tar, hydroquinone, triclosan, and triclocarban. In addition, these brands all use less than one percent of synthetic fragrances.
This is seriously awesome news — happy shopping!
