Kristen Bell Shares Powerful PSA About Living With Anxiety and Depression

Kristen Bell has made us love her even more by shining a light on mental health awareness this month with a powerful PSA that everyone could really benefit from hearing.

The Good Place actress and favorite funny lady,  released the video PSA as part of the Child Mind Institute’s #MyYoungerSelf campaign, which features influencers from the arts, entertainment and sports worlds sending messages of hope to young people everywhere.

The PSA features people in the spotlight sharing messages that they would pass along to their younger selves and Bell talks about living with both depression and anxiety. “Everyone has problems,” Bell says. “Everyone feels yucky on the inside sometimes. And you deserve to feel just as beautiful on the days where you wear no makeup and the days you don’t shower and the days you feel like you’re depressed. And you have an obligation to take care of yourself from the inside out,” she says.

She shares many resources that people can turn to when they are having a difficult time, but the main message that she aims to get out to the world is: “You are not alone,” she adds. “Never feel embarrassed or ashamed about who you are.”
