At this point, Uber is one of the most-used apps on our phones. We use it for everything from emergency situations (i.e. running super late for class) or everyday travel. It’s essential in our lives. Well, things are starting to get very health conscious for the rideshare service and it’s pretty exciting.
Uber Health was recently born after being in the works since last summer and it’s a service that everyone from college students to grandparents can use.
“There are a lot of people out there who are not going to the doctor simply because they can’t physically make it there,” said Uber Health executive Jay Holley.
Seeing a void in the market, as well as an opportunity to connect with a lot of new riders, Uber Health will handle rides set up by doctor’s offices or other healthcare providers. The best part? They will then bill that business, not the patient, for the service. In some cases, service providers will be passing the fee onto their customers, but most are paying out of their operating budget.
Sounds like the best news ever to us!
