You’ve found that yoga class that always leaves you feeling relaxed and stretched. You also have your go-to HIIT class that’ll guarantee to leave you sweaty and challenged. Now we’re going to push you to switch it up. After all, ClassPass is about discovery, and sometimes the gym is just what you need to explore. Here are some reasons why you should complement your class schedule with trips to the gym.

Though you love those outdoor classes, there isn’t always an option to shower after class. And on the hottest or coldest days, running outside can feel almost impossible. At a gym, you can get your heart rate up without worrying about overheating or freezing and snag a shower before heading into the office.
2. It gives you more freedom.
Sometimes you don’t want to take an hour class. Other times, you want to work out alone. We get it – everyone has different moods, so let the gym be the place you get to set your own rules. Run for 30 minutes? Great. Lift weights for 10 minutes and then check out the smoothie bar nearby? Awesome. It’s up to you!
3. It works with your busy schedule.
It can be difficult to keep up with a workout schedule. From vacations to happy hours to work and family obligations, your social calendar suddenly fills up quicker than your class queue. Don’t worry — by visiting the gym, your workout can be quick, early in the morning or late at night.
4. It’ll make you more comfortable with equipment.
In many HIIT or strength-training classes, you work with equipment you might not be that familiar with. Many gyms offer the same equipment – like kettlebells, hand weights, ropes and more – and you can really take your time to learn how to use them properly. Don’t be afraid to ask the front desk or a trainer to show you – it’ll make you more prepared for your next class!
