When we think of Twitter’s CEO, Jack Dorsey, starting his day, we probably all imagine him opening the app and making sure of those 140 characters, but that’s not actually the case.
Nope, Dorsey’s focus first thing in the a.m. is on his well-being.
During a talk this week at the Cannes Lions advertising festival, he shared that his day starts with meditating, then a seven-minute workout from his phone, then, of course – coffee. Once that’s done, he checks Twitter.
After a morning focused on his self-care, he walks five miles to Twitter’s San Francisco headquarters, listening to podcasts, audiobooks or occasionally taking a phone call along the way.
“I’m really happy I make time for myself because it just clears everything away,” Dorsey said at the Cannes talk.
This is something that we are totally applauding over here and a routine that could be added to most of our lives. Putting our self-care in the forefront of our day as soon as we roll out of bed lets us know that our needs have been met – then we can conquer our day.
We’ll definitely be copying his routine, but also trying to squeeze in class a few mornings a week, too.
