Ever get the feeling you’re being followed? Well, hopefully you’re not, but this book will definitely make you paranoid! Clare Mackintosh’s’ creepy thriller will keep you on the edge of your seat. For one of the first and only times, I was shocked by the ending and who the “culprit” of the story is. If you’re looking for a guessing game that might hit a little too close to home, then give this page-turner a shot!

Who Would Love This Book:
If you you’re a thriller/murder mystery junkie this one’s’ for you – but be prepared to get spooked!
Synopsis in 140 characters or less:
Zoe, a working-mom, sees her photo in the the newspaper on her commute and she can’t let it go. She finds out she’s not alone (literally).
Why You Should Read It:
I found it extremely refreshing to read a thriller where I couldn’t immediately predict the ending. The book follows a bunch of characters surrounding one main story line – someone is stalking women on their commutes to work, and some of them are not making it home. Based in London, in this story you’ll get twists, turns and P.O.V.’s from the police, as well as the main character, Zoe. In my opinion we get a bit too much back story on the police officer Kelly (who is another main character in the book).
There were so many characters that could have been the main suspect so I was always kept guessing. The book was all-too-real as it was filled with family drama, financial struggles, and the regular day-to-day hardships of blended urban and suburban lives, with just the right touch of mystery. It really made me think twice about my everyday commute and paying a little closer attention to the norm. Sometimes we’re in such a routine, it couldn’t hurt to shake things up.
