Huge Hummus Recall: Check Your Labels Stat

Huge thumbs down: our favorite Sabra hummus was just recalled.

We know, you’re all running to your fridge to check because pretty much everyone we know has this stocked at all times. (It goes hand-in-hand with our fridge, like chapstick in our gym bag.)

Here’s what you need to know: this was a voluntary recall, and it happened because there was a possible listeria contamination. Here’s the official list from the FDA of all the dates and batches to watch out for.

Sabra Dipping Co’s CEO, Shali Shalit Shoval released this statement in regards to the recall:

“We have invested heavily in technology and enhancing our processes and protocols, with guidance and input from external experts, to develop and put in place industry-leading food safety procedures, such as testing finished product from the production line every two minutes for pathogens including listeria. We want to reassure our consumers that our procedures include extensive finished product testing, and no products tested positive for contaminants. We are taking action because consumer safety is a top priority.”
