How ClassPass Helped Me Kick Those Fitness Fears For Good

If there’s anything I’ve learned from writing my blog for the past two years, it’s these two things: everyone has something incredible to offer, it’s terrifying to put everything on the Internet for everyone to see and most importantly – you will never get anywhere in life if you don’t take risks and keep moving forward. 

You may be wondering how this relates to fitness –well, let me tell you! I have always been a huge fitness fan. As a young gymnast and soccer player, the importance of being healthy and active was engraved into my brain from the beginning. As I got older and stopped participating in organized sports, I realized that I was going to have to put forth a much larger effort to keep up with my usual fitness activities.

As going to the gym day after day got old, someone suggested I start going to fitness classes. And though I’m outgoing, for some reason, I could not bring myself to try out new classes alone. The thought of putting myself out there in a new environment where I may not be up to par with everyone else’s abilities was terrifying to me.

I finally found a friend who would attend some yoga and spinning classes with me, and I realized that I loved going to classes! The only problem was that when she did not want to go and I always came up with an excuse to skip class as well. Finally, I told myself: “Who cares what everyone thinks? No one is perfect. If you want to go to the class, go to the class!”

ClassPass has been the cherry on top to my journey in being comfortable in my own skin in new fitness classes. ClassPass has forced me to try new things, go to new studios, and attend classes that I know nothing about. It has opened my mind to engaging with my workout instructors because I actually need their help. I look at fitness classes as an opportunity to learn about how far my body can be pushed, and a place to go when I want to just escape the stresses of everyday life.

Being a blogger has helped me break down walls that used to hold me back from putting myself out there; being a member of ClassPass has helped me realize that in order to better yourself and your health, you need to take risks just like every other situation in life. In 2015, I want to push myself to continue a healthy lifestyle, and to never let fear get in the way of improving myself in all aspects of my life. I know that YOU can achieve the same goal this year! Here’s to a successful, healthy new year!
