We’re heading into the deep of summer, and the new hits are heating up with the temperature! Instructors and studio owners from each type of exercise offered at ClassPass gave us the top five songs they must have on playlists right now, and we’re sharing them with you.

Take a look at our list, and then take a listen—you might find a song that will shake things up in your next class. Music can inspire a new routine, and maybe one of these songs will give your playlist that extra oomph it needs to make your clients bust a move or strike a pose!

Dance

DivaDance Company opened in 2015 with the goal of boosting students’ confidence and body love by way of dance classes set to the best pop and hip-hop beats. They call it, “a sexy, sweaty, stress-free dance party,” designed to get people swaying their hips to get fit while having fun. They have locations in New York, Austin, and Washington D.C.

Right now, they’re bumping to these five summer hits:

Kickboxing

We checked back in with Alyssa M., the Regional Director at Sweat Fitness Philadelphia to see what she’s playing in her high cardio kickboxing classes for the summer. She said that most of the songs have a BPM of 150-155, so she relies a lot on remixes to keep the energy levels high with the help of her favorite fitness DJ app, FitRadio.

Alyssa looks for, “those songs you can’t help but break out and sing to in the middle of your workout…those are my favorites!” She tries to use a mix of current songs and throwbacks to keep everyone engaged and moving with the beat. Right now, she’s jamming to:

Strength Training

At Point Loma Sports Club in San Diego, there is a focus on making sure that the people who walk in the door leave feeling happy and uplifted after a workout. In their own words, they are in, “the people business, serving fitness,” and not the other way around.

We asked to know the top five songs blasting in strength training classes at PLSC, like BodyPump, Total Body Bootcamp, and Coreblast, and learned from Group Fitness Director Jessica Rubin that their workout song picks for the summer include:

Cycling

At SpinnOff London, the cycling teachers energize and train students with proper form in a full-body workout that combines cardio with abs and arm exercises while listening to the best music. In all spin classes, music is extremely important because, “music matters helping you get motivated and concentrating with fierce focus.”

We asked Mairead, owner and trainer at Spinnoff, what songs they’re spinning this summer, and she shared her top five:

Yoga

David Hem is a Philadelphia-based yoga instructor who teaches at studios and gyms throughout the city. His classes get people loosened up and relaxed even as they challenge themselves by trying new postures and focusing on their mind-body connection.

According to David, “the message in my teachings is to simply just have fun with your practice…on and off the mat.” While on the mat in his classes this summer, students may be tuning in to:

Barre

At Pure Barre Williamsburg in Brooklyn, NY, the classes follow a formula to give clients a full-body workout but are always being refreshed with new music and new exercises so that no one ever has to take the same class twice.

Owner and instructor Becca McCarthy told us that at her studio, “music is everything, and…we like to have fun and rock out.” Her top 5 songs that are must-haves this summer are:

Centered on North is a boutique Pilates studio in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago that offers the chance to make a, “core connection, perform your most fluid movement and meet your optimal fitness potential,” all to the sound of great music. Their top 5 songs for the summer are:

At CityRow the dynamic instructors have taken rowing to a whole other level with high-intensity, interval exercises on and off their WaterRower row machines to work the entire body—all synchronized with great music!
