Payroll & Benefits Specialist

This role is an integral part of our people/HR team and the primary expert for all things payroll and benefits related.

  • Process domestic (semi-monthly) and international (monthly) payroll cycles for our exempt and non-exempt workforce
  • Audit time entries, process special checks, file unemployment forms, process new hire tax paperwork, and create a summary of reports for management
  • Respond to questions about payroll, time and attendance, etc.
  • Offer suggestions, advice and solutions regarding payroll processing procedures
  • Provide accounting team with payroll, PTO accrual and PTO payout reports


  • Administer day to day activities of the organization’s benefits programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, retirement savings, life insurance and disability)
  • Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and reporting
  • Confirm employee selections are entered accurately and proper paperwork has been collected
  • Conduct open enrollment processes and ensure plan changes are communicated appropriately
  • Main point of contact for employee questions about benefits plans and coverage
  • Work with benefits brokers to resolve tricky and/or escalated issues
  • Track and process invoices from benefits carriers


  • 2+ years of hands-on experience as a payroll and benefits administrator/specialist
  • Experience with International payroll and benefits a plus
  • Experience with Namely as an HRIS also a plus
