see all reviewsInstructor was very friendly and observant; and provided helpful suggestions; however the pace of the class was somewhat choppy and disorganized. Maybe an assistant instructor could be helpful for larger class sizes. The environment could be more tidy and less distracting.

Introduction to Mysore - Style Ashtanga Yoga
see all reviewsThis isn’t your typical yoga class where the yoga instructor is in front of the class and students follow her sequence. With this class, everyone is in a small room doing their own thing, doing Mysore-style ashtanga. The instructor instructs students with their form. Although Gina was nice, I didn’t enjoy the class. Before asking for consent, she made hands-on adjustments, without my consent. I had to inform her that I didn’t want any hands-on adjustments. Instructors should know better and understand the importance of consent before making adjustments on students. It was distracting having the instructor move from person to person instructing others, the room was too small and felt cramped, and the instructor didn’t have control over the heat to turn it off when it got too hot. It felt as though Gina was rushing through the sequence with me towards the end. It was not enjoyable — this type of class was not for me. If you prefer typical yoga classes, I would avoid this class.
